1. Hanif mohammed was runout tragically on 499 while he was gng for a single in a first class match in pakistan.The batsman at the other end when this happened was Abdul Aziz.there is another little known fact abt abdul aziz though .He is the only person whose last innings scoreboard entry read-absent dead. i'm not kidding!!!
2. Who was the Channel Nine commentator who once asked Bradman "Have you something to do with cricket administration?" - It was none other than Tony Grieg during the 1971-72 tour of World XI against Australia.
3. This astonshing cricketer began as a No.11 batsman, but his batting improved to such an extent that he opened the inningswith Hobbs in 1911-12 at Melbourne and shared in a stand of 323.Holds a couple of other records which will probably never bebeaten (can't tell you, otherwise it'll be a giveaway and I've given you too many already ;-) ). Died, aged 95.
Wilfred Rhodes. Rhodes took over 4000 first-class wickets (onlyplayer > 4000) and played his last test, aged 52 years, 165 daysvs. WI (the oldest to do so). His test career lasted for 30 years- another record. Died in Dorset, '73.
4. F.R Spofforth , 14-90 deomolished england, leading to the 'ashes' obituary notice.He also took test cricket's first ever hat-trick.
5. Sid Barnes holds the world record for the most number of wickets in a test series. His 49 wickets from just 4 tests against SA(1913) came at an astonishing average of 10.39.
